Dodger Stadium, north of Downtown, is the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, with seasons running April-October. Staples Center, is a newly-built sports and entertainment arena, hosting two basketball teams, LA Lakers and LA Clippers. The winter sport season lasts October-April and features ice hockey team, LA Kings.

LA has not had a resident National Football League team since 1995, so invites numerous star teams from other states. The Rosebowl Stadium, historic home for the bowling, extremely popular within the UCLA campus, is the venue for guest teams as well as college football tournament. The soccer team, LA Galaxy, plays at the Home Depot Center.
